What is it like to live in Juneau?
With a population of 33,000 residents, over 90 hiking trails, great fishing and hunting, and visitor industry offers to experience whale watching, helicopter tours, dog sleds rides, salmon bakes, zip-lines and more…it is a very special place to spend a summer.  Name brand stores like Costco, Fred Meyer, Home Depot and Sportsman Warehouse help keep the cost of living in check while many locally-owned stores and restaurants add to the wonderful quality of life.

How about the fleet?
The fleet is made up of 5 DeHavilland Otters that have been upgraded with the Texas Turbine engine conversion.  The 900 SHP Garrett turboprop is a favorite feature with our pilots.  Each airplane also has electronic multi-function flight displays with GPS and ADS-B.  The airplanes are meticulously maintained by an award-winning maintenance department.

What is the job like?
Our pilots enjoy flying visitors to Alaska over the spectacular scenery of the Juneau Icefield and to the historic Taku Glacier Lodge.  There are no fish boxes or mail bags to load and trained ramp staff assist with docking the aircraft.

Our pilots fly approximately 350 hours during the May through September season.  Typical schedules include 5 days on, 2 days off with flexibility to meet individual needs.  Average duty day is 10 hours or less and we often do split shifts on busier days.  When the day is done, our pilots go home to their own bed every night.
